Grappling No Gi

What is No-Gi Grappling?

No-Gi grappling is a dynamic, fast-paced form of submission wrestling where practitioners train without the traditional kimono (Gi). Instead, students wear rash guards and shorts, and rely on body control, positioning, underhooks, and pressure — not clothing grips — to control their opponent and finish submissions.

This style blends techniques from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and catch grappling, making it ideal for anyone looking to sharpen their ground game — whether for sport, MMA, or self-defence.

Why Train No-Gi at New Wave Academy Penge?

At New Wave Academy Penge, our No-Gi classes focus on control, transitions, takedowns, positional awareness, and high-percentage submissions. The training is intense but beginner-friendly — with clear technical breakdowns, drilling, and live rolling under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Expect to build grip strength, timing, reaction speed, and scramble ability — all without the friction and structure of the Gi.

Whether you’re aiming to compete, cross-train for MMA, or just want to get fit while learning real-world grappling, our No-Gi classes are the perfect place to start.
