Grappling No Gi

What is it?

As the name suggests, no gi training is undertaken without the gi uniform. This style of grappling is generally faster and more dynamic than gi grappling. Including positions and submissions that are not allowed and/or not available in the gi. In recent years, no gi grappling has advanced considerably due to the adoption of positions and techniques from the other grappling arts.

Class Structure/ What To Expect

The class coach will typically cover a series of techniques that progresses in each class across the course of a week (eg. mount attacks). 50% of class time is spent drilling the relevant techniques, and 50% participating in situation & live sparring.

The classes are suitable for all abilities.

Requirements

We recommend that for sparring, a gum shield is worn. There is no set uniform although participants are expected to wear a rash guard, well fit T-Shirt , spats, mma/board shorts with NO POCKETS OR ZIPS.
